Annie's birthday lunch

Lunch meet up with the 1 lady and 3 mummies at Toa Payoh

Annie's birthday celebration at HOGS BREATH CAFE

Assorted snacks shared...

My steak dish - cleared the meat, mashed potato and the broccoli last.
Only to find a fat white worm dead in the broccoli.
Kill me please, I was turned off instantly and cold chill went down my spine.
*faint* Was taken aback so much that I didn't take a pico of the WORM and got the waiter to clear the disgusting plate.

2 minutes later, the same waiter brought back a new plate of vegetables and mashed potato.
Can anyone question him, WHO DARES TO CONTINUE EATING?

BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MUMMY ANNIE (we termed her granny back in Planet Telecoms...)

Oh, the worm incident? They gave us discount on the bill, only after making some big hoo-haa on it...

PS: I wrote a feedback email to them on that same day yet there's no response on the incident. It's a grandmother story-telling kind of FEEDBACK form. LOL, hence I'm sharing only a portion of the whole email sent. Please read and laugh about it :)

The bad incident happened when I realised that there is a big fat white worm hiding within the big bunch of broccoli which I was eating.
Shocked to see the worm, I alerted my friends who then called out to the Chinese waiter nearby.
The waiter came by and took my plate away quickly (this might explain why I'm unable to show you the picture of the big fat worm)
Within 3 minutes, he came back and served me my leftover steak, new vegetables and new mashed potato in a new clean plate.
He briefly explained that he had changed a new plate and new vegetables for me before exiting to serve the lunch crowd.
No further explanation and no apology was given.

Feeling disgusted by the worm, I wasn't in the mood to even try eating the new vegetables and unfortunately, wasting food.

We asked one of the waiter at about 12.40pm that we wanted to speak to the manager.
We waited for about 10 minutes and spoke to the same waiter if his manager was coming out to attend us.
He politely replied that his manager was busy and unable to come out, and if there's anything he could help us with.
(I appreciate his politeness and offer to help, but, please continue with the below story)

We declined and insisted that the manager should spare us just one minute amidst his hectic schedule to attend to us.
The manager came out from the kitchen. He explained the following to us with regards to our question about the worm issue:

- He was aware of the incident when the dish was brought back to the kitchen.
- He had spoken to the chef to clarify the issue.
- He came out only when he was just first told by his staff that we wanted to speak to him (NOTE: We waited 10 minutes and spoke to the same polite waiter.)
- He offered to give discount off our bill as a form of compensation. (I appreciate his offer as a form of apology)
