Jetstars Carry-Light promotional tickets gotten in year 2009 at S$38 (incl tax, to-and-fro).
And I have become their Frequent Flyer. LOL.
Hello empty luggage! I'm watching YOU.
Cheap tickets with super weird flight timing.
Pending to board the plane at 7.20am. *My eyes which had only 2 hours sleep*
45 minutes of stoning / snoozing moment on the plane...
Our 3rd time landing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Yet our first time to their tourist spot - mini forest within the transit area.
Awaiting for the KLIA Ekspres to bring us to KL Sentral, 28 minutes ride at RM35 per pax.
28 minutes journey to catch up on lost sleep....
Reached KL Sentral only to realise that the next available Genting Bus tickets was for 3pm.
OMG! It was only 10am and we had nothing planned for such situation.
Guess what? We ended up sharing cab with other couple, RM50 per couple, up to Genting.
And the cab ride was way faster than the bus ride + cable car ride up to Genting.
Checked into Theme Park Hotel early, as per what our itinerary was planned.
Headed downhill for lunch at Mushroom Garden, 3-minute van ride from First World Hotel.
Sweet and sour pork ribs RM18
Homegrown mushroom RM12
Hotplate Tofu RM12
Bak Kut Teh RM12 for one pax portion
Satisfying lunch and was about to head back to Genting Highlands when we saw the heavy rain.
Thank goodness the restaurant provided car service to-and-fro from the hotels.
Gloomy weather, headed to casino to try our first day luck. So-so.
Headed back to our room to nap for 2 hours before heading out for dinner.
Simple foodcourt dishes :)
Casino session, once again, from 8pm - 11pm. LOL.
Taking a break in the open air, after being secondhand smokers in the casino for long...
Best thing to do at night - either casino or movies!
That's provided you have gotten your tickets in the day and are still awake at night.
Limited movies to choose from, with only 2 movie theatres operating...
Our chosen movie : Ip Man, The Legend Is Born
RM17 per pax (deluxe seating with bigger leg space and better seat level) comes with a popcorn set which comprises of popcorn, drink and candies.
Fourth row from the back, sitting right smack in the middle of the theatre...
Went to sleep after the movie, woke up early for casino from 9am - 11am, checked out and headed back to Kuala Lumpur by public bus at RM 5.50 per pax.
Reached Pasarakyat bus terminal and took 20 minutes walk to find our next hotel to check in.
PiccoloHotel was our choice for this trip.
Malaysia Premier Eco Boutique hotel, strategically located behind Lot10 Shopping Mall.
Likes the lightings and paintings along the corridor
The room was unexpectedly looking good~!
Changed of clothes and headed out to start our shopping day in KL!
My "disloyal" shades which committed suicide in the mall later in the day...
Lunch stop at Jalan Petaling (Chinatown)
Our favourite stalls were not opened in the day and we ended up checking the restuarant which served the same brand name noodles.
Hokkien Mee, not as nice as what we usually had in the old store.
Breaded salad prawn to go along with the noodles..
My favourite drink! :D
Bought the Muah Chee from the old auntie who claimed fame on newspaper cuttings for her unique flavours of Muah Chee..
RM5 a box, pretty expensive.
Can't really taste some flavours, except the different colours you see underneath the peanut toppings.
Interesting paper posted underneath a bridge near the train station.
Kind souls still exist, isn't it?
Be sure to check KL Chinatown out! It's located near Maharajalela station.
DearBoy, forced to take this lame pico while waiting for the train to come..
Headed back to Bukit Bintang station, where all shopping malls are located.
Sungei Wang Mall, having Taiwanese idol (part of boy band 5566) to promote the wonders of Taiwan.
I don't know his name though...
Shopping for the rest of the day...
Napped for an hour before heading out for dinner near Bukit Bintang Hotel.
The dinner restaurant which we always frequent :)
Bak Kut Teh
Chicken and Mutton Satays
BBQ Chicken Wings
Stingray, fresh and fleshy!
Drinks at the pub at the hotel lobby
FIFA World Cup : Brazil 1 - 2 Netherlands
Slept till late morning because DearBoy was down with fever the day before...
Made our way to a new shopping mall - OneUtama
Train from Bukit Bintang > KL Sentral then change train line to Kelana Jaya
The Sail @ Marina Bay, lookalike?
The train ride to Kelana Jaya feels like, we are exploring their neighbourhood instead of their city area...
Manage to hitch a ride on the bus catered to MEMBERS/STAFF of the mall for free...
Otherwise, we will have to cab there or choose the following options:
The mall comprises of an old building and a new extension.
I would say, the size of 2 Vivocity. :)
Lunch at TOKYO.G for fushion japanese food
Philadephia Beef Roll RM 12.90
- Minced chicken and onions wrapped in grilled beef, topped with tempura flakes and served with mayo and chilli sauce (In short, it's our Chinese dish Goh Hiang taste-alike)
Started shopping after the meal.........
New Building = lots of familiar brands that can be found in Singapore, not cheap.
Old building = their local brands and good place for cheap deals!
Quick 5 minutes break with my Starbucks coffee and his Baskin Robbins Ice-cream.
It's shopping madness! RM9 for an office white top, RM25 for a good t-shirt etc etc etc.
Tea-break over Gui Ling Gao (herbal jelly supposedly cooling for body health)
Left the mall with bags of new clothes, wheee!
Took their public bus back to Kelana Jaya train station for RM1 per pax.
Train back from where we came from - Bukit Bintang
Check out the signboard on train - they have ONE more type of person to give up our seats to.
SPOT the difference from what we have in Singapore MRT.
Dropped our shopping bags in the hotel and had a quick shower before heading out for dinner.
Dinner at NANDOS @ Pavilion
Ordered their specialty - grilled chicken thigh meat skew RM30
Checking out the REAL thing!
One of the thigh meat with 3 sauces to choose from (spicyness ratings vary = peri-o-meter)
Continued with my shopping craze after dinner...
Saw the Singaporean twins (By2) who abandoned their studies to further singing in Taiwan, having their album signature marketing event outside Sungei Wang.
FIFA World Cup @ Bukit Bintang
Argentina 0 - 4 Germany
Gotten a not-too-bad seating 30 minutes before the match kicked off!
Supper after the match at our favourite Zi Char area...
Tried a new restaurant outlet, for the very first time!
Satays, BBQ Chicken Wings, Fried Kway Teow, BBQ Sting ray
Verdict: No-no! Not nice yet expensive place. It's a no-go place!
Giving our faces a rest with hydrating masks on our last night in KL... LOL.
Last day in KL, checked out on time to head to KLCC for lunch.
Attracted to this advertisement outside the lift lobby. Hee!
Long queue for lunch at Madam Kwan's (highly recommended for the nasi lemak)
Their sub-outlet nearby named Miss Kwan's serving same nasi lemak (cafe style without tax and service charge)...
Madam Kwan's menu
Nasi Bojari RM 21.90
Tri-coloured rice with assam prawns, beef rendang and deep fried chicken drumstick
Nasi Lemak RM 15.30
Aromatic coconut steamed rice served with chicken curry, sambal ikan bilis, shrimp floss, hard boiled egg, acar and fresh cucumber
And of course, we ordered desserts to add a sweet and cooling note to our lunch :)
Red Bean Ice RM 6.50 aka Ice Kacang in Singaporean's context
Cendol RM 6.50, with self-service add-on amount of gula Melaka
Note the difference of their Ice Kacang - they have cashew nuts and raisins in it!
Got my plane snack at Roti Boy
Freshly made coffee buns - concept was famous in Singapore a few years back but not now anymore...
Took KLIA Ekspres to KL International Airport
The overview structure of the airport
Our plane got delayed for close to an hour...
Check out our eyebags... Can't wait to board the plane and knock off for the 45minutes journey back to Singapore!!
Dinner at Changi Airport Terminal 1 - QUIZNOS (Subway look-alike)
Overall verdict: Subway is much better than Quiznos, in terms of sandwich / vegetables / sauces choices!
Home sweet home, proudly showing off my shopping gains to my family!
Wahahah!
Sad to say, back to work the next day.... *sian half*
