Shopping Spree in Johor Bahru!

Our first overseas trip together since the age of 13!!!!
(Eh, not exactly so, we went to Malacca on a school trip at age 13-14)

Met in the early afternoon and took a train to Jurong East interchange.
Meiru, Jiamin and ME

S$4 bus ticket which takes you straight through Singapore and Malaysia Customs and sending you directly to AEON MALL (Jusco)

Lunch at A&W

Cam-whored while the cashier was taking a long time to serve the customer ahead of us.

My favourite coffee place when I was in Bangkok 1-2 years ago.
Whoohoo! Coffee to perk myself up!

Shoppaholic Meiru must have enjoyed her day with us - early birthday celebration :)

Shopped in the mall before having our teabreak at some random cafe.
Each of us got 2 pairs of shoes. Haha!
Shoes can never be enough! :p

After which, we cabbed over to City Square (20 minutes away) at RM 25.
Continued our shopping! So happy...

Rounded up the trip with a hearty dinner at Seoul Garden.

3 pax with free flow of drinks: RM 105 (CHEAP!)

Caught in human traffic jam at the Customs.
Home sweet home at 10pm :)

To Meiru:
HAPPY SWEET 22nd BIRTHDAY! :D

Short Weekend Trip to MALACCA (Day 2)

Good morning Sunshine! Yes, having to wake up early on a holiday trip was disastrous for me.
The worst was, waking up early for morning swim, how exciting!

Ferris Wheel wasn't operating that weekend hence striked off from the itinerary.

Niece all geared up for a swim!

Early birds to the pool at 8am, nice scenary!

Having fun at the baby pool...
Poor me shivering from the cold wind in my swimsuit, taking pico *ahem*

Pico taken before we left the pool for breakfast!

Yes, can't wait to eat. Haha!

After breakfast, we were baby-sitters! Brought his niece to the playroom at the hotel.

Wanted to take a shot on my own, oh well~

It's interesting to see how his niece settled down quietly for her pico to be drawn.

Yes, quietly and serious I mean...

End product, not exactly as fantastic isn't it?

Pico of our hotel across the street.

Last meal for the trip - lunch at HOE KEE

Got to make do with HOE KEE since we did not have enough time to queue at the famous chicken rice stall...

The no-good about travelling during peak period...

Chicken Rice Ball - authentic hainanese dish

Chicken, not very nicely chopped and bones still remained...

Yes, the rice ball was made pretty well..

Assam fish head

Trying to be funny, again... This time, DearBoy's suggestion..

Last drink : A&W rootbeer float :D

Took coach from hotel straight back to Singapore Golden Mile Centre.
Had take-away dinner at DearBoy's place and Dad came to fetch me home.

Short Weekend Trip to MALACCA (Day 1)

WELCOME TO MALACCA

Yes, short weekend getaway to the neighbouring country on school holidays.
How exciting to get stucked in traffic jam during peak period travelling.

Reached the hotel, judging by the usual off-peak estimated timing, we were late by 2 hours.

2 Single beds - soft and hard to choose.

DearBoy and his family members - uncle, aunt, niece, mum, sister

Upon checking into the hotel, we headed out to the centralised tourism area by foot.

Yes, tourism area. Apparently they were promoting tourism hence the performance.

Rickshaw for a ride? Per a wall notice, it's RM 40.00 for one hour, who believes?

The long walk of stairs up the church, which we didn't attempt to try.

Hot hot day and I've reached the official tourist area - the red church.

DearBoy's attempt of an artistic shot by the river.
Thanks to the strong wind, my centre hair parting is made so obvious.

It's funny to see Happy New Year greetings on display in the month of June.

Singaporeans everywhere!

Good hot stuff to buy, anybody?

DearBoy having some traditional ice popsicle to quench his thirst.

Yes, it proves to be effective and his niece is enjoying it totally!

Heritage place I say, as I see a lot of different dialects clans there.

The Hokkien Clan

Fresh BBQ cuttlefish for sale! RM10.00 for a small packet.
Expensive but still worth the money.

First food-stop: Jonker88
The sister and BF were queuing up to buy desserts - the famous ice chendol.

A small restaurant full of heritage.

Interesting posters with Chinese sayings:

Appreciate those who had cheated you, as they have increased your knowledge of the World.

Baba Laksa, served with a spoon of tuna (UNIQUE)

Nonya Assam laksa, I love the sourish taste of the soup :)

Die die must try: ICE CENDOL RM2.50
I had mine served with durian as topping!
The brown liquid is liquified brown sugar (GULA MELAKA), super nice!
(Can't find in Singapore)

The big menu at its doorstep with a long list of ice cold desserts to try!

A library in the middle of the long stretch of shophouses.
I wonder if it's for real, hmmm...

JONKER WALK, many lanes of shophouses selling souvenirs and food by day, and MORE by night.

The accurate description of JONKER WALK

My dialect - Hainan Clan

Click Clock Click Clock - Colourful CLOGS for sale!

Air-conditioned short break at a local products shop

Big foot massage shop, for those who are tired from walking all day long....

I never knew I can look so ugly *AHEM* LOL.

*ahem* Still, somebody will still be kind to help us take a pico :)

Artistic shot by DearBoy

The lane within the red church selling souvenirs.

Me trying to be funny, as usual....

Sun setting soon...

Having our XXXth break by the street...
Father, Aunt, Niece, Mother, Sister, Boyfriend.

Trying to be creative, haha!

Dinner at Nancy's Kitchen
A place famous for Peranakan food and hangs 2 Singapore flags within the restaurant.

Menu - peranakan kuehs

Tired me with the refreshing drink - Hog Plum Juice aka Jus Kedodong
Tasted raw but refreshing~! (MUST TRY!)

Some dinner dishes (unable to provide names cos the receipt/bill is not with me)

Kueh Pie Ti! Must eat as it's their authentic dish.
It's a cup made with thick cracker, served with popiah fillings.

Overview of the first level shopfloor, kitchen on the left, cashier on the right.

Do give it a try, you won't be surprised to see MANY singaporeans having their meals there.

Streetside pushcarts selling food - JAPANESE sushi, surprise!

Getai - singing platform for members only.
Bring your own tape, dare to sing on stage and they will record your singing in your tape for free!

Muar Otah for supper in the hotel!

Tornado potato (deep-fried potato cut in spiral-shaped)

Last pico of the day to sum up DAY ONE :)
Yes, I was alone in the room watching FIREWORKS while somebody was in toilet doing business.
